Academe offers a Waldorf education for high school students. In a Waldorf school, students are taught to think, they are not simply taught how to take a test. We seek students who are somehow at risk of failure in conventional schools, or who are not being adequately served by other schools, and we provide these students a high-quality college preparatory education, a respected diploma, and help with taking their next steps into college and career. Students attend either a morning or an afternoon session with individualized one-on-one instruction in core academic subjects. The remainder of the day is spent in the workplace. Students are required to work 150 hours per semester in a paid or volunteer job.
